I'm looking to interview a select group of people in tech whose mental health has been impacted by how the tech industry works.

A moderately cool dweeb of a UX and IA designer from Chicago, IL focusing on accessibility and behaviors.

Hi. I'm currently a senior UX designer at Morningstar, Inc. working on Managed Portfolios — a product that helps financial advisors. I love working at Morningstar because I can think about complex, old problems that affect many people. Since joining Morningstar, I've developed a strong interest in how finances and economics impact everyone.

When I'm not at work, you can find me giving talks about design, accessibility, or finances. I volunteer with the Adler Planetarium and Chicago Public Schools because I want kids to know that no matter their interests, backgrounds, education, or limitations, they can impact the world through design. I want them to learn that good design is predicated on constraints and creativity is navigating those constraints. Kids today are awesome.

My favorite things in the world are friendship, pizza, cats and dogs, metal music, horror movies, building furniture, studying people, souping up a Honda Accord, community building, cold weather, caves and spelunking, nature documentaries, libraries, bologna sandwiches, collecting Fields Notes even though I have too many, cool sneakers, walking around Costco and other big box stores, getting to the airport with only 30 minutes till departure, space exploration, and bus rides.
